The First International Symposium on the Peaceful Use of Space Technology (Health) was held in Hainan, China, January 2018. It was hosted by the China Space Foundation and supported by the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Astronauts, space scientists and space medical specialists from China, the United States, Russia and other countries attended the meeting. Participants reached consensus on cooperation and signed a memorandum of cooperation. It was decided that symposiums will be held in China regularly. The participating parties also agreed to work together to build demonstration platforms such as the "International Space Innovation Center".

In May 2018, the preparatory meeting for the 2019 International Symposium on the Peaceful Use of Space Technology (Health) was held in Beijing. A strategic memorandum was signed by symposium representatives from China, the United States, Russia, and the University of Toulouse. The parties agreed that the 2nd space symposium will be held in China, in 2019, and agreed to establish the groundwork for the development of major programs aimed at the peaceful use of space technology. Shortly after, after consultation and election, the parties jointly established the International Institute for Space Technology Innovation to screen, develop, incubate and invest in mature and industrializable space technologies.

After the first Symposium, the International Peace Alliance (Space) respectively attended the 69th annual meeting of the Association of Space Explorers, the 35th Space Symposium (U.S.), the 14th United Nations Conference on Outer Space Affairs (Vienna), and other important space conferences. The Alliance informed the international community on China's efforts in promoting peaceful use of space technology, gaining positive responses and recognition from mainstream space organizations and institutions all over the world in a wider scope

At the request of the parties, in April 2019, the International Peace Alliance (space), in conjunction with the Chinese Society of Astronautics, China High-Tech Industrialization Association, held the second preparatory meeting for the 2019 International Symposium in Beijing. The Space Foundation, the Association of Space Explorers (ASE), the International Space Medicine Summit (ISMS) and representatives from Japan, Italy and other countries were in attendance. The meeting reached consensus on the purpose, orientation, and potential topics of the Symposium. The parties signed another memorandum of cooperation in space technology and industrial integration among other key issues.
